Mary Anne "Anne" Walker Capps, age 79, of Odessa, TX, passed away on October 2, 2017 in Odessa.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm, Friday, October 6, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Carl Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Anne was born October 14, 1937 to Mary Edna and Bartow Thomas Walker in a little house on Pine Ave. in Bayview, Ala. She graduated from Minor High School in 1957. They were married on May 22, 1958. She worked for Lloyd Nolan Hospital in medical records keeping, before leaving to be a full-time Mom. George and Anne lived together in 4 states during their 59 years of marriage, Alabama, North Carolina, Florida and Texas. Anne very much loved her family, God, and her church family. She attended West Odessa First Baptist Church, then Dunn St. Baptist. Her home was every child's home as her children and grandchildren grew up. Everyone was considered family after visiting once and told "If it's here eat it or drink it, then clean it up!"
Anne is preceded in death by her parents, Mary Edna (Weaver) and Bartow Thomas Walker; sisters, Martha Walker, Della Mae Martin and husband, Hugh, Jackie Walker; brother, Tommy Walker and wife, Nona; in-laws, George W. Capps, Sr. and wife Doris; nephew Bart Walker and niece, Trish Walker; best friend, Nita Rodgers, all of Alabama; great grandson, Wyatt Blaine Owens of Odessa, TX.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, George (GW) W. Capps, Jr.; daughters, Sylvia Capps McIntyre and husband, Gordon of Brandon, Fla, Rhonda Elaine Burelsmith and husband, Craig of Odessa, TX, Paula Capps Owens and husband, Chilton of Odessa, TX; grandchildren, Isaiah Alicea and partner, Jared Hale, William Alicea, Joy Driscoll, Heather Young, Summer Robas and husband, Bucky, Marcus Burelsmith and wife, Lynell, Donovan Owens and wife, Courtney, Andronica Owens, Shealynn Rogers, Kenneth Rogers; great grandchildren, Jacob , Calvin, Cole, Jason, Jonathon, Neylan, Bayleigh, Jaxon, Maci, Kimber, McKinleigh, Wyatt Blaine, Lane, Braxton and many wonderful friends.
