On April 2, 1921, Dallas and Bera Robinett became the proud parents of their first child, Mary Lela. Mary was soon joined and is survived by one sister, Maurine, and three brothers, Robert, Billy Joe and Jimmy Robinett.
Mary graduated high school in Mozelle, TX. She then pursued a career as a beauty operator. During this time, the love of her life James Dunn asked her to be his wife. They were married July 17, 1943 and celebrated 60 years together. She was the Queen of his heart and home until he went to be with the Lord April 3, 2004. She then received comfort and joy from their beloved dog Fifi.
Mothers life was like a beautiful bouquet of flowers. The first flower she picked was God. The second flower she chose was James. The next three flowers were Ronnie, Rennie, and Robinette. With her bouquet complete, she tied it securely with a ribbon of love. Her bouquet was her life as it was fed, loved and nurtured every day.
Before she knew it, she found a second bouquet was sprouting. When the most beautiful flower blossomed her name was Cammie. With this flower came a new definition of love. Mary tried to explain this special love of a grandchild to Robinette but she finally summed it up by saying, you will understand when you become a grandmother. As the years went by, more and more blossoms opened. Each were unique and special as only grand children can be. Daniel, Jeffery, Paxton and Gentry brought great joy to their Nanny. Every moment spent with them were some of her most cherished memories.
Her third bouquet has begun to bloom and now has nine blossoms, great grand children and a bud, her first great, great grandchild.
With Marys garden complete, she has joined James in Heaven. Together they will continue to nourish their flower garden.
Mary passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2009 in Odessa. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, February 27, 2009 in Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
