Mary E. Smith

Obituary:

Mary Ellen Smith passed away on Tuesday, March 5th, 2024.

 Her husband, Charles "Chuck" Smith, took great care of her and kept her comfortable into her final days. You could see the love in the way he cared for her. We also appreciate her sister-in-law, Carrie Smith, for caring for her and allowing her to remain in her home. 

She was born to Birdie Faye and Robert Choate on December 21, 1961. 

She is proceeded in death by her sister, Patricia "Pat" Rhodes. She is survived by her two sisters, Rose Wooten and Billie Dean; son, Robert Singer and wife Monica Singer; son, Robert Scott and wife Jennifer Scott; daughter, Cheryl Scott and husband Brandon McBride; son, Charles Smith III and wife TaNeal Smith. Yes, that is correct she had two children named Robert. Grandsons, Aiden Bridges, Johnathon Brady, Orion Scott, Jeremy Tousant Jr., Nathanael Carter, Owen Richardson; and granddaughters, Haleigh Carter, Gabby Carter, Hannah Garcia.

Animals were a huge part of her life as well. You often saw her with a dog on her lap, or at her feet awaiting food. You could easily spot Mary by where the animals were located or by her sparkly nails. She loved bedazzling her nails for season, events, or fun. But her appearance is not what she'll be remembered for. She will be remembered for her caring heart, fiery personality, and her sense of humor, which will live on through the hearts of everyone who loved her.
