Mary Wynona Lawrence

Mary Wynona (Bradley) Lawrence, age 93, of Odessa, TX, passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on January 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Nonie, as she liked to be called, was born July 6, 1931, in Plainview, Texas to Earl & Myrtle Bradley 

Nonie met the love of her life, Doyle Lawrence, in Brownfield, Texas and was married on December 3, 1950. She was a homemaker and a loving wife for 58 years, until Doyle’s death in 2008. She was a member of Sherwood Church of Christ in Odessa, TX.

In 1971 Doyle accepted a position overseas with Shell Oil and as a family they travelled to Ceylon (Sri Lanka) and Lebanon. Upon returning to the states, they lived in Gallup, NM, Baton Rouge, LA., Denver City, TX and later Saudi Arabia. After Doyle’s retirement they lived in Ruidoso, NM and Las Cruces, NM before they finally settled back at home in Odessa, TX in 2004.

Nonie is survived by her 3 daughters, Rhonda Lawrence and husband Craig Ferguson of Odessa, TX, Renee Werner and husband Bill of Brownwood, TX, and Rachelle Herrick of Odessa, TX. She is survived by one brother, Doyle Bradley and wife Patsy Kay of Colorado; and one sister-in-law, Carol Ann Bradley of Brownfield, TX; five grandchildren, Lisa Burleson and husband Justin of Odessa, TX, Shanda Womack and husband Michael of Midland, TX, Scott Werner of Abilene, TX, Brent Werner and wife Carly of Driftwood, TX, and Britni Herrick of Austin, TX; ten great grandchildren, Kale James, Bradyn, Addisyn, Braylea and Jayci Burleson, Dawson Womack, Branson, Brooklyn, Weston and Logan Werner.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Doyle; parents, Earl Loyd Bradley and Myrtle Lou Mae (Beck) Bradley; brothers, RA Bradley, Delbert Bradley; and sisters, Peggy Barnett and Reudell Wilkie.

The pallbearers are Craig Ferguson, Justin Burleson, Johnny Josselet, Bill Werner, Scott Werner and Brent Werner. Honorary Pall Bearers are Bradyn Burleson, Kale James, Branson Werner, Logan Werner, Weston Werner and Dawson Womack. 

A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Odessa, TX with the funeral service following at 2:00 PM.

Special thanks to the staff of doctors, nurses and respiratory techs at ORMC on the 5th floor and CCU. Your compassion and care for our mother and her family was beyond amazing.
