Mary was known by many names – to the numerous children over the many years she taught at Mary Moppet’s Day Care, she was Miss Mary, and she was always delighted to hear one of them call her name years after graduation. She was called friend by those she’d kept in touch with since high school as well as those she’d just met. She was Sister Mary to those at Bethel Assembly of God and Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God, and she was big sister, Mom, and her favorite name - Nana.
Mary dedicated her life to her family. While she worked to support four children and their many activities, her greatest accomplishments were as a mother. She was always willing to listen, thoughtful with advice, and she gave “I love you”s and hugs with abandon. She instilled in her family a wealth of Scripture, a firm work ethic, a passion for books and cooking and music, a quirky sense of humor, and a love of God and family. She leaves those behind with the absolute knowledge that her new residence is exactly what she deserves and is far greater than any earthly home we can imagine.
