Mary Puente Morales

Mary Morales “Momo”, passed away on March 4, 2025, in Odessa, Texas. Visitation will be at 6:00 PM, March 10th, 2025, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 11th, 2025, with Pastor Craig DeArmond of Hope Alive Church, officiating. A burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.

Momo was born on November 7, 1940, in Artesia, New Mexico, to Dora and Ynocencio Puente. She was married to Elias Morales Sr. for 64 years. Momo was a tough and resilient woman, known for her fiery temper that could rival the heat of her Church’s Chicken jalapeños. With unshakable strength, deep faith, and unwavering determination, she dedicated her life to her family—from working hard in the fields and raising her three sons. Above all, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest pride and joy.

Momo is proceeded in death by her father, Ynocencio Puente; mother, Dora Puente; brother, Gustavo Puente; sisters, Alicia Jiminez, and Estella Saldaña; brother, Pete Treviño; and granddaughter, Lyndsi Renee Morales.

Momo is survived by her brother, Luis & Lilia Puente; husband Elias Morales Sr.; sons, Jesse & Helen Morales, Elias Morales, and Noe Morales; granddaughters, Melissa & Albert Martinez, Meagan & Jonathan Lindsey, Crystal Morales; grandson, Joshua Morales; great granddaughters, Cailyn Martinez, Emery Martinez, Lennon Lindsey; and great grandson, Nash Lindsey.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Morales, Elias Morales Jr., Noe Morales, Joshua Morales, Rudy Quezada and Jonathan Lindsey.

Her strength, love and hard work will continue to live on in the countless memories and lessons she taught us through the years. Rest in peace, Momo. We love you to the moon and back.
