Mary Schultz

Mary Jo Schultz, age 79, passed away Monday, June 13, 2011 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. She was born in Fort Towson, Oklahoma on September 18, 1931 to Jimmy and Beulah Collins. Mary Jo and Gilbert G. Schultz were married June 17, 1956 in Fort Towson, Oklahoma.

Mary Jo graduated from Fort Towson High School in 1950. She entered South Eastern College in Durant, Oklahoma graduating three years later in 1953. She then went to summer school obtaining a Masters Degree in 1958. Mary Jo taught three years at Carlsbad, New Mexico before moving to Austin Elementary in Odessa, Texas, where she retired thirty four years later in 1990.

Those left to cherish her love and memory are her beloved husband, Gilbert Schultz sisterinlaw, Mae Ola Keel, niece, Darlene Crane, great niece Allison Collins and special friend Marvelene Armstrong.

Mary Jo is preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy Collins and Beulah Collins.

Visitation with family will be 68 PM Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donita Lea officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
