Mary Vickers

Mary Lou Vickers, age 83, of Odessa, TX, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, January 19, 2015.

Mary Lou was born on January 5, 1932 to Wayne and Susie Clark. She lived most of her life in Odessa, TX. She married Charles "Vick" Vickers on August 27, 1949. They shared 64 years happily married before his death in 2013. They enjoyed bowling, fishing, traveling, playing games with each other, family and friends. She was a member of The First Baptist Church in Odessa, where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and volunteered in the church nursery. She loved spending time with her family and had a special bond with each and every one of them. She had many friends and shared lots of laughs with all of them. She was a kind, sweet spirited and humorous lady. She loved Jesus Christ, her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all. Her granddaughter, Shelby Dawn Fitzgerald was the light of her life. They spent a lot of time together and had a very special bond.

Mary Lou is preceded in death by her best friend and love of her life, Charles "Vick" Vickers; parents, Wayne and Susie Clark; brothers, A.B. Clark, J.E. "Blue Eyes" Clark; sister, Anna Ward Morris.

She is survived by her son, Charles R. Vickers; daughter, Sunny J. Fitzgerald; granddaughter, Shelby D. Fitzgerald; great granddaughter, Wren C. Fitzgerald; brother, Don Clark and his wife Nelda; sisters, Daisy Van Zandt, Merle Massar, Betty Winters and her husband Jim; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Leland Maples officiating.

The family would like to extend a gratitude of thanks to Hospice of Midland for all their kindness and care.
