Matthew Gutierrez

Matthew Levi Gutierrez, 34, of Odessa, Texas passed away on November 6, 2020 in Lubbock, Texas.

Graveside Services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, November 13, 2020 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Sam Gutierrez officiating.

Matt was born on March 6, 1986 in Dumas, Texas to Ruben and Helen Gutierrez.  He was an avid pool player; he made a point to make it to every tournament there was.  Matt was ranked in the state of Texas as one of the best.

Matt’s whole life though, was his son, Camden.  He made sure Camden did not need for anything.  Matt made sure to make it to all his practices and games.  Sadly, Matt will not make it to the Dallas Stadium, where Camden will play after Thanksgiving, but WE will all be there for him!

Matt had many friends many, many friends; he was very well liked.  There wasn’t a person that he met that didn’t become a friend instantly.  Matt had two families, his immediate family and his pool-playing family.  He also loved to go fishing, had just started to become a gun collector, and he was an avid Cowboys fan.

Matt is preceded in death by his stepmother, Connie Gutierrez; grandfather, Victor Cobos; and grandmother, Anita Casarez.

Matt is survived by his son, Camdon Gutierrez; best friend, Bailey Chaffin; mother and second dad, Helen Gutierrez and Terry Pillers; father, Ruben Gutierrez; brothers, Chris Gutierrez and wife Andrea, Joey Gutierrez and wife Erika; sister, Stephanie Hernandez; stepbrother, Ruben Beasley; grandmothers, Ester Cobos and Patricia Morris; as well as nieces and nephews, Gabby, Caidynce, Laila, Avrie, C.J., Sadie, Paishanz, Noah, Eli, Jonathan, Daisy, Dimetre, Denise, Moriah, Brianna, Ylianna, and Annabel.
