Melba Jean Carl Williams, Bubber 83, passed away March 14, 2010, in Odessa. She was born January 1, 1927 in Drumright, Oklahoma to Charles Eugene Carl and Mary Francis Wise Carl.
Melba graduated high school in 1944 at Gladewater High School where she was a proud member of the flag team.
Melba married Andy Franklin Williams, April 10, 1944. She lived in Odessa for the last 53 years. She was employed by NutriSystem and later as a decorator at Sears. She enjoyed crocheting, her home, her yard, her flowers and her dog, Diamond. She was loved dearly by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Melba was survived by two brothers Dan Carl of Bogota Columbia, Chuck Carl of Bowie, Texas two daughters Mary Dick and husband Winston of Odessa, Trish Wolz and husband Jerry of Hobbs, her son Andy Williams of Dallas, four grandchildren Jennifer Guy and husband John of Los Alamos, Theresa Carter and husband Glenn of Midland, David Dick and wife Vanessa of Odessa, and Julie Persilver of Hobbs. She had nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Andy Williams, her parents, one sister, and one great grandchild.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Hospice House for the kind and loving care in her final days.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Chapel, with Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
