Melba Faris, 86, of Odessa, Texas, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, in Odessa, from a lengthy illness.
Melba is survived by her daughters, Phyllis and David Heilman, Kathy and Steve Henderson, Elizabeth Lingle, Tina Evans all of Odessa, and Diana Crowder of Menard; sons, CT Harris of Dallas, Glen and Shari Brooks of Sullivan Ohio, Darrell, and Jenny Harris of Robstown; sister, Ruth Evans of San Angelo; 22 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 12 great great- grandkids. Sister Ruth Evans of San Angelo. And multiple nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: Husband Weldon Travis Harris, JC Faris, Father Walter Gray Shows, Mother Anne Lou Fulton, Mother-in-Law Eula Bunch Harris, Brother, Walter Shows, Clinton Shows. Sisters: Joyce Chaffin, Bobbie Whitten, Katie Ware. Sons James Faris, Joseph Evans. Daughter Laura Jean Parvin. Grandson Chance Harris.
Melba was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother. She loved cooking Sunday lunch for her family and extended family, after lunch socialize and play a friendly poker game. She worked at the VFW Post 4377 as the Club Manager for 10 years. She loved her customers and fellow workers. Melba was a very COMPETATIVE game player from Poker, UNO, Gin, and various other games. Melba loved her precious little Molly. Nor rain, nor sleet, nor snow, Melba never missed her hair appointment up to her last days. She enjoyed watching all her grandkids play sports.
