Michael Cartwright

Michael Don Cartwright, 70, of Hobbs, New Mexico, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023, in Odessa, Texas. Mike was a beloved father, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Memorial service will be held for family and friends at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 1:00 PM. Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell will be officiating.

Mike was born on November 14th, 1952, in Hobbs, New Mexico to Bob Cartwright and Teddy Lewis. He attended School and graduated from the great Permian High School in Odessa, Texas. Mike had many professions including compressor mechanic, car salesperson, caterer, chemical salesperson, and other jobs in the oilfield industry. In his career, he was known for his hard work and mechanical knowledge. Mike loved to cook, especially on an open grill. Fishing was also a favorite hobby and he always seemed to be able to find where the fish were hanging out. Mike was a saved Christian and will no doubt be greeted by the Lord!

Mike is preceded in death by his father, Bob Cartwright; his mother, Teddy Lewis; his brother, Robert Cartwright; his brother-in-law, Bruce Swingle; and his grandmother, Lucille Templeton.

Mike is survived by his son, Justin Cartwright and his spouse Sadie; his daughter, Misti Crouch and her spouse Coby; his sister, Cheri Swingle; his grandsons, Calvin Cartwright and Colton Crouch; his granddaughters, Ruby Cartwright and Makenzi Crouch; his niece, Bridget Castillo and her spouse Josh; their children, Jonas, and Sophie Castillo. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
