Michael Rhea

March 31, 1955 — June 16, 2018

Michael Craig Rhea "Big Red", 63, of Odessa, TX, passed away on June 16, 2018 in Odessa, TX.
A memorial service will be held 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home in Odessa, TX. Attendees are invited to a memorial lunch honoring Mike at Sunset Funeral Home immediately following the memorial services.
Mike was born in Sundown, TX to Guy Stanley Rhea and Rama Nell Stroud on March 31, 1955. He graduated from Levelland High School in Levelland, Tx. Following High School Mike began a successful career in the oil patches of West Texas. He married Dana Lynette Rhea on May 18, 1992 in Odessa, TX. He founded Mida Supply in 1993 a successful family business that he ran up until his retirement to Lake Brownwood, TX in 2009. Mike loved spending time with family and friends and most everyone that he met usually became one or the other in short order. He cared deeply for those around him and unknowingly made everyone around him strive to be a better person. Mike loved to spend time outside from the mountains of New Mexico to the lakeshores in Texas or even just out in his own yard where he took pride in having everything green and tidy. He was always ready to lend a hand where needed or a swift kick in the butt when deserved, but most of all Mike was ready to do whatever it took to get the job done. The man, the myth, the legend. Forever missed, never forgotten, always loved.
Mike is preceded in death by his nephew Cameron Maye, his brothers Kerry Don Rhea, Lee Wayne Rhea, and Samuel Conway "Butch" Rhea, his father Guy Stanley Rhea, his mother Rama Nell Rhea.
Mike is survived by his wife Dana Rhea, his children Kiesha Hughes and husband Llyod, Bryan Rhea and wife Jammie, Daman Pinson and wife Monica, Chris Pinson and wife Jessie, his sisters Penny Maye and Pam Barrera, grandchildren Karly, Bailey, Lil Bryan, Brayden, Madison, Caiden, Tyler, Isaiah, Tinley, Elizabeth, Brennan, Ryan, Liam and Lydia, and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
