Michael Tibbets

Michael Stephen Tibbets, 25, was suddenly taken to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 in Odessa.

Michael was born August 16, 1989, in Odessa to James Ernest and Kathy Ann Nance Tibbets and was baptized as a symbol of his Christian faith on March 28, 1999, at Mission Dorado Baptist Church where he remained a member throughout his life.

Michael attended Ross Elementary, Hood Junior High, and Permian High School, where he played tennis and was a member of the choir. He attended Odessa College, UTPB, and Criswell College. Michael held jobs with many companies with vocations ranging from management positions to flower delivery, and finally a courier for FedEx in Midland, where he found many friends and brought a positive attitude and laughter with him to work every day. He enjoyed reading on all subjects, but especially Libertarian and Independent politics as well as religion, specifically the Jewish culture spurred by a lifechanging trip to Jerusalem. He enjoyed shooting, singing, and was a D.J. known as D.J. Skribz. His family and friends knew him as Bubba, Crob77, Mr. Tibster, and notoriously maintained the FB lifestyle.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Kathy Tibbets two uncles, Steve Nance and Bruce Johnston Grandparents, Billy and Beatrice Tibbets and Dub Nance and a nephew, John Matthew Tibbets, Jr.

He is survived by his father, James Tibbets of Wichita Falls brothers, Matt Tibbets and wife Mitzi of Wichita Falls, Joey Tibbets and wife Kelly of Odessa and Chris Tibbets and wife Stephanie of Odessa nieces Darien, Haley, Dallas, and Teagan and nephews, Jody, Stephen, Ben, Dalton, Michael, Josh, Tyler, Colt and Bronte as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and too many friends to list.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 1, from 57:00 pm. Services are scheduled for Tuesday, December 2, at 1:00pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens with his lifelong friend Jeremy Williams, officiating. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Johnston, Casey Nance, Andy Murphy, Jared Rencth, Jody Tibbets, and Jon Murray.
