Michelle Ann Parten, age 24, of Dallas, Texas passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018 after a hard-fought battle with a rare form of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Michelle was born in Odessa, Texas on May 30, 1994 to Kit and Penny Parten.
Michelle graduated from Midland High School in 2012. After high school she attended Texas Christian University where she graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Electrical Engineering. She was a past president of the TCU chapter of the Society of Woman Engineers and continued to be a member after beginning her career at Texas Instruments. She also mentored young women who were interested in pursuing STEM careers and volunteered as a mentor to the J.J. Pearce High School robotics team.
Michelle is survived by her spouse, James Benton, her parents, Kit and Penny Parten, her brother, Christopher Parten, her grandparents, Robert and Carol Parten, her aunt, Elizabeth Elizandro and her uncles, Neal Sparks, Glen Seal and Howard Parten.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Rachel and Wilma Seal.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, October 26, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Odessa, Texas.
