On July 26, 2010, our dad went to join our mom to be with their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Dad was born on April 30, 1949 in Big Spring, Texas and was 61 years old when he died of complications from C.O.P.D.
He graduated from Permian High School in 1967 and married his lifelong sweetheart, our mom, Sandy Burns on July 14, 1967. They had the three of us children, Lori, Richard and Kim that they were both very loving and devoted parents to.
Dad retired from BJ Chemical where he worked for many years. He made so many friends through the business and after retiring missed them greatly. He was ALWAYS so appreciative to those who called him or went to his house to check to see how he was. You will never know how much that touched him and made him feel special.
Our dad was a wonderful person and his love for his friends and family were a direct result of his love for God. His hope for those in his life was to see everyone again on the streets of gold in heaven.
He was a wonderful grandad to 6 grandchildren and he always made sure that they each knew how important they were to him and mom. He loved each one the same and they loved him and will miss him dearly.
Dad was preceded in death five weeks to the day by our mom, Sandy Burns Robison. We are going to miss them both so much. He was also preceded in death by our sister, Kim Robison Vargas his brother, Melvin Robison and his father, Claude Robison.
Those of us who have been left behind to celebrate his life are his daughter, Lori Whitmire and husband James of Wink son, Richard Robison and wife Kimberly of Odessa mother, Betty Robison of Odessa sister, Susan Talley and husband Duane of Odessa and grandchildren, Erin Whitmire of Nacogdoches, Sarah Whitmire of Wink, Rebecca and Nathan Robison of Odessa, Ryan Whitmire of Abilene and Stormy McCoy of Odessa also many nieces and nephews.
Dad, we will miss you so much. We will always remember you for the strong, loving, Godly man that you were. We take our strength and comfort in knowing that you are not struggling to breathe any longer and that you will spend eternity in heaven and that we will all see you again one day.
We want to thank all of the friends and family that have shown us so much support in the last weeks. Gods love truly shines through all of you.
Visitation with the family will be 57 PM Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Clydell Chapman and Richard Ray officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
