Mildred Bridwell

Mildred Young Bridwell, age 89, of Odessa, TX, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Medical Center Hospital.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 4, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Jody Wallen and Terry Tamplin officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.

Mildred was born February 11, 1926 in Arden, TX to Ruth and Fred Holiman. She married Don Young in 1948 and they raised 2 children, Vivian and Carol. They were married for 22 years until Don was killed in an electrical accident in 1970. In 1975 she married Larry Bridwell and they remained married for 24 years until Larry died of natural causes in 1999.Mildred's youngest daughter died in 2001. Mildred worked as a hair stylist for the Childers family for many years. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church and was a member of Fidelis class. She was the last remaining survivor of that class until her death.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, youngest daughter Vivian and son in law, Skip Smith as well as 2 husbands.

She is survived by her oldest daughter, Carol and husband Ronald Baker; 5 grandchildren, Robert Smith, Lisa Smith, Heather Smith, Donna Baker Bell, Troy Baker and many great grandchildren.
