In the tender embrace of cherished memories, we bid farewell to Mrs. Mildred Gummelt, a luminary who graced this world for 95 years with unparalleled love and grace. Mildred's gentle spirit and boundless wisdom touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Mildred was born on February 2, 1928, in Bogata, Texas to Rufus and Melba Ward. She attended Paris Junior College and was a member of Central Baptist Church in Odessa. Mildred’s most loved job was at Strike-it-Rich because of all of her customers.
Survivors: son Bill Robbins and wife, Patty, ofpp so Abilene; daughter, Amy Harris of Colorado City; son in law Melvin Johnson of Midland; daughter in law Linda Robbins of Arlington; ten grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; brothers, Felix Ward and wife June, and Billy Ward and wife Glenda; sisters, Merle Palmer, Nina Couch, Shirley Anderson, Sandra Stockton and husband Don.
Mildred Gummelt is preceded in death by her parents Rufus and Melba Ward; brothers, Rufus, John, Dean, Jerry, and Roger Ward & sister Jo Hoover; husbands William A. Robbins and Bill Gummelt; sons James and Neil Robbins; daughter Judy Johnson; daughter in law Rene Robbins; son in law Eddie Harris; and granddaughter Angela Harris.
