Mildred June Hardin Mauldin was born August 1, 1928 in Crowell, Texas to John Morris and Ethel Ribble Morris. Mildred married John Barnett Hardin on October 17, 1944 in Vernon, Texas. Their union produced two children after many years of marriage, William Bill Barnett Hardin and Brenda Kay Hardin. Tragically John Hardin was killed on March 26, 1966 and Mom raised us alone. Mom chose nursing as her career and particularly loved Labor and Delivery. Mom made many lifelong friends throughout her career. Mom still spoke often and fondly about her nursing career many years after retirement. Mom discovered her true love though when her grandson Logan was born. Mom and Logan were each others best friend while he was growing up. She indeed was his other mother. Mom and Logan shared a bond that even in death will never be severed. Our hearts are heavy with grief but we rejoice in knowing that Mom is no longer suffering and has been reunited with family, friends and especially her son Bill and her brother John Morris.
Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, one sister, her husband John Barnett Hardin and her only son, William Bill Barnett Hardin.
Mildred leaves to cherish her memory a daughter Brenda Kay Hardin, grandson, Logan Hardin Bryant, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
