Millie Wester Ward, 77, of Kermit, TX passed away on January 1, 2022, and was welcomed into Heaven.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dudley Mullins of First Baptist Church Kermit officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be the same day from Noon – 2:00 PM.

Millie was born in Weatherford, TX to Willis Harvey and Bonnie Wester on January 17, 1944.  She married the love of her life, A.L. Ward on February 8, 1963, at Belmont Baptist Church where they met and were members until they moved to Kermit in 1992 and joined First Baptist Church Kermit. Millie's life was spent serving others. She was a GA leader, ACTEENS leader, was involved in VBS and WMU at Belmont along with being a Girl Scout leader. At First Baptist Kermit she was a youth leader and served on many committees. Millie was a teacher for 36 years with a long career resume including special education and teaching the visually impaired. She loved to read, travel, ride motorcycles and play games with her family.  She was on several bowling leagues, was a member of the teacher's sorority, Kappa Kappa Iota, the Retired Teachers Association and served on the board for Area on Aging. She loved to sing and was a member of the Singing Women of Texas. Her smile and laugh were contagious, and she made an impact on everyone she knew.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Willis Harvey and Bonnie Wester, in-laws, Albert L. and Zetta Ward; brother, Gene Wester; three sisters-in-law, Carolyn Cain, Naomi Pope, and Earlene Williams; and her nephew, Aaron Roper.

She is survived by her husband, A.L. Ward of Kermit, TX; daughter, Cheryl McCrury of Odessa and husband Tommy; daughter, Jana Methven of British Columbia, Canada and husband Mike; grandchildren, Avery McCrury and wife Kaitlyn, Channing Sawyers and husband Dusten, Jonathan Methven and Jordyn Methven; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn & Jimmie Farris, Laverne & Benny Baxter, Patsy & Eddie Roper, Raytus Ward, and Jerry Cain; as well as many nieces and nephews; and Natalie Warren, whom she loved like a daughter.

Pallbearers will be Wes Crow, Larry Williams, Jeff Williams, Elton Pope, James Ward, Bobby Slaughter, and Mike Wenzel.
