Minerva Jones

Minerva Garcia Jones, 63, passed on January16, 2009 in Odessa, TX. She was born on November 18, 1945, in Ozona, TX to Silvester R. Garcia and Maria L. Alba.

Minerva was raised in Odessa. She attended school in Odessa and taught kindergarten at the Baptist Mission and she worked at Ladys Boutique. She sang in the church choir, was the pianist and was the Sunday school teacher for the First Spanish Baptist Church. Minerva held many titles at her church.

Survivors include her children: Joe R. Hinojos Jr., and wife Ana of Midland, Michael L. Hinojos and wife Niki and daughter, Rebecca V. Hinojos both of Odessa. Grandchildren are Jason Yeilding, Andrew Hinojos, Melanie Jepson, Vanessa Hinojos, Alexandria Peanut Hererra, Jessica Hinojos, and JuLeisa Hinojos; one sister, Rebecca Hines of Houston, TX and brothers; Silvester Garcia, Jr. and Louis Garcia both of Odessa and nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be 7:00 PM Monday, January 19, 2009 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Garza and her brother Louis Garcia officiating.
