Moises Martinez

Moises Mo R. Martinez, 72, of Odessa, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013 in Odessa, Texas surrounded by his loving family. He was a cancer survivor.

A rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father Michael officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

He was born on February 20, 1941 in Toyah, Texas to Refugio Martinez and Benita Renteria. On November 17, 1962 he married the love of his life Manuela Machuca.

He served in the US Armed Forces from 19601966. His lifelong career was as a meatcutter at various locations in surrounding areas, which included Furrs Supermarket and Lowes Marketplace. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

Mos favorite pastime was being with his family and teaching his kids how to Master the Passion of Grilling. He taught us that though we all have obstacles in life, family is the most important thing and always comes first.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Frank Martinez and Ruben Martinez.

Moises is survived by his loving wife, Manuela Machuca Martinez of 50 years of Odessa sons, Moises Martinez Hilda, and Richard Martinez Maricella all of Odessa daughters, Arcilia Alvarado Joe of Midland, and Sandra Hatfield Jeff of Odessa grandchildren, Moises, Issac, Veronica, Felicita Maria, Julia, Marivel, Richard Jr., Ysenia, Anali, Victoria greatgrandchildren, Alan, Ethan Adalyn, Aryana, Nicholas, Jacob, Mariah, Isabell, Elijah and Lukka sisters, Anita Pena of El Paso, Trini Velasquez of San Angelo, and Delia Mckee of Chicago.

Pallbearers will be Moises Martinez, Issac Martinez, Richard Martinez, Omar Soto, Victoria Hatfield and Ysenia Martinez.

The family would like to thank Dr. Madhava Agusala, special friend and nurse Sandra Miller, the CCU staff at ORMC, and family and friends for there love and support.
