Morene Stribling, 88, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on January 7, 2025, in Odessa.
The visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, January 13, 2025, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with nephew, Thad Chambers, officiating. A burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
Morene, affectionately known as “Mama Mo” was born in Roscoe, Tx to Walter and Rilla Richburg, along with her identical twin sister, Rowena, on January 27, 1936. She went to school at Trent and Pecos High School, graduating from Pecos High. She married Leonard Carlton “Corky” Stribling on September 16, 1953.
Morene graduated from beauty college and worked as a hairdresser early in her marriage. When her youngest child was in kindergarten, she began working for Bearing Supply and remained with the company for 45 years. Morene loved supporting her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and friends’ kids in whatever they were interested in. She attended any and all sporting events, plays, concerts and activities she could in order to support her loved ones. She was a longtime fan of Permian Football and loved to play a round of golf whenever she could. Throughout her lifetime, Morene was a member of Kingston Avenue Baptist Church, First Baptist Church and Grace Christian Fellowship. Her devotion to her savior, Jesus Christ, was highly evident in the way she lived her life.
Morene is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Rilla Richburg, husband Corky Stribling; son, Tully Stribling and his wife Shannon; oldest sister, Jean Love; niece, Taronna Sewalt and her husband Jeff Sewalt; and nephew, John Love.
Mama Mo is survived by daughter, Stephanie; son, Koy and his wife Cheryl; sisters, Rowena Chambers and Robbie Rutherford; grandchildren, Brandi Stribling, Beau Stribling, Tyler Stribling, Trevor Stribling, Natalie Stribling Johnson, and Callie Stribling; great-grandchildren, Leah Barina, Keller Stribling, Presley Stribling, twins Harper and Berkley Stribling, Mary Katherine Stribling, Carter Stribling and one on the way, Malcolm ‘Mack’ Johnson; great-great grandchildren, Kyrra Barina and Carson Barina. Morene is also survived by a long list of beloved nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorials to be made in Morene’s name to charities of your choice.
