Mozelle Irene Hootie Thompson Postelle, age 88 of Odessa, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012 in Odessa.
Hootie was born in Stanton, Texas, to Thomas and Minnie Heaton on April 7, 1924.
She was married in 1943 to A.W.Buster Thompson in Smyrna, Tennessee. They were transferred to Midland Army Air Field in the early 40s. She worked as the head of the blue print and draftsman department during WWII and was a member of the WWII WASPA. For many years she was a homemaker, mother and an employee of Mark Knox Flowers in Odessa, Texas. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Hootie married Wendell Postelle in 1986, and enjoyed travelling, fishing, and visiting relatives and friends.
Hootie is preceded in death by Buster Thompson, Wendell Postelle, and 8 siblings: Jesse Heaton, Cubby Heaton, Ida Ray, Ann Johnson, Curtis Heaton, R.B. Heaton, Thomas Heaton and Bessie Willis.
Hootie is survived by her son, Stephen W. Thompson, of Odessa and her daughter, Peggy A. Gaitan, of New Braunfels and grandson, PFC John R. Gaitan, in Afghanistan with the U.S. Army, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be 68 PM Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home. Services are scheduled for 3:00 PM Friday, June 1, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Byron McWilliams officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family suggests memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society.
