Nancy Lynn Britt

Nancy Lynn Britt was called home on September 8, 2023. She was born October 17, 1947, in Bentonville, AK, and moved to Odessa as a young girl. She graduated from Permian High School in 1966. She married Curtis W. Britt at Westminster Presbyterian in 1971. She worked in commercial insurance for over 45 years until she retired in 2012.

Her favorite past times were reading, cooking, crafts, and shopping. She was known for her love of large, colorful hats. She had a collection of flipflops to match every outfit. Her biggest passion was adventure and traveling by RV with Curtis and Izzy, their beloved dog. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, love of family and friends, but mostly for the magic she brought to the ordinary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen & Archie Depwe; and her beloved little sister, Kathryn Depwe McCarty. She is survived by her husband, Curtis W. Britt; daughter, Dr. Shanna Bell & husband Jason T. Bell; brother, Randy Depwe & wife Barbara; nephews, Chad Sandell & wife Natalie, and Andy Depwe & wife Diane; niece, Amy Depwe; and many dear relatives and friends.

A service to celebrate her life will be at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Charity. Special thanks to the staff at MCH for the loving care & support.
