Nancy Evelyn Venable died peacefully in Odessa on October 15, 2017 in Odessa, TX at the age of 84.
Evelyn was born on April 15, 1933 in Portland, TX to Richard and Altha King. She graduated from high school in 1950 in San Angelo, TX. She married Darrell Venable, her high school sweetheart. After moving to Odessa, Evelyn worked for several doctor's offices and Lou's Lab in administrative roles. She served as Librarian for Sherwood Baptist Church for many years also. She could often be found in her kitchen cooking large meals for the family. She loved Jesus and shared this passion with her family. Her never wavering faith was a beacon to her family. She will truly be missed, but is at peace now.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Altha King, son, Dwight Allen Venable, and Daughter, Traci Venable Jarrell.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, Darrell Venable; daughter, Vivian (Vicki) Venable Peacock; brother, Robert Allen and Brenda King of Beeville, TX; grandchildren, Anthony (Tony) Joseph Mayhar, Margaret and David Hudson, Pamela and Michael Berry, Matthew Allen Jarrell, Kourtney and Cody Bryant; 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating.
