In Odessa, Dale worked primarily as a homemaker, raising four children. She also continued her college studies, and, in 1976, she completed her bachelor's degree in Art at the University of Texas at the Permian Basin. Dale was active in various civic organizations and with Presbyterian Women, serving in leadership positions as needed. She was an active member and former president of the Jaycee-Ettes, the Odessa Art Association, the Horizon's Watercolor Group; she was an avid member of the Odessa Duplicate Bridge Club. She enjoyed painting, playing tennis, gardening, and playing bridge. She achieved the rank of Life Master in the American Contract Bridge League.
Dale was an accomplished artist, working in oils, acrylics, pastels, pen and ink, and watercolor media; and she painted portraits, landscapes and still life's for more than seven decades.
