Norma Nichols

Norma Lee Nichols, 71, of Odessa, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2009.

She was born September 2, 1937 in Jean, Texas to Newman Ephfrom Lasley and Mary Louise McGinn Lasley. She was raised in Allney, Texas and moved to Alamogordo, New Mexico around 1948, after the loss of her father. In 1980, she married Terry Dale Nichols in Odessa. She was a long time homemaker and housewife, and had been a waitress and worked in a sewing factory. She loved her church, Central Baptist, and her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Dale Nichols, her parents, Mary and Newman Lasley, and three sisters, Merial Louise Lasley, Dorothy Fay Rice, and Willie Jane Malfuez.

Survivors include a son, Bruce Edward Gerlinger of Grandfalls; daughters, Mary Diana Tindol of Odessa, and Barbara Ann Green of Corpus Christi; a sister, Mary Holzer, of Lovington, New Mexico; 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 28, 2008 in Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with her cousin Mike McGinn officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
