Mrs. Norma M. Nichols heard the call of angels and went to her heavenly reward May 22, 2015 at her home in Odessa.
She was born May 20, 1923 in Neosho, Missouri to Esther Emrick Swanson and W. F. "Bill" Swanson and grew up in a large family of five brothers and two sisters.
She married Forest Lee Nichols on August 7, 1946 in Joplin, Missouri, moving to Odessa in 1958 where she raised three daughters and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
As a charter member of Central Baptist Church, she served her Lord joyfully and faithfully all the days of her life participating in several outreach programs through the years.
Known as "Granny" to many, her sharp wit and loving ways will be missed by all.
Preceded in death by her husband, Forest Lee Nichols in 2010.
Norma's survivors include three daughters, Norma Lee Rogers of Odessa, Janice Youngblood of Shreveport, LA, Gwen and her husband Troy Hogan of Odessa, seven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and eleven great, great grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 10:00 am at Sunset Memorial Funeral Chapel with Vaughny Taylor, officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
