Norman "Ray" Holley, 70, of Odessa, TX, passed away on January 21, 2019 in Odessa.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, January 25, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Cornerstone Worship Center with Pastor Paul Thompson officiating. A private family burial will be held prior to the memorial service.
Ray was born in Lewisville, Arkansas, to William Henry Holley and Dossie "Evelyn" Clark on August 1, 1948. He graduated from Permian High School in 1966. He married Mary Hardin on October 5, 1968, in Odessa, TX. Ray owned and operated several businesses, the longest established being Basin Battery & Electric, for over 30 years. He helped to found Birthright of Odessa and was a board member for many years.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Johnny, Rodney, and Darrel, and his sister, Donna.
Ray is survived by his wife, Mary; his son, Michael Holley (Renee); his daughter, April Thompson (Daniel); his daughter, Carrie Holley-Hurt (Russell); his grandchildren, Sarah (Chris), Christopher, Stephen, Lauren, Abigail, Tabitha, Micah, Gideon, Harper, Alexandria; his brothers, Wayne and Douglas; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to Birthright of Odessa, PO Box 12603, Odessa, TX 79768. The family of Ray Holley wish to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Desert Milagro Dialysis Center and of Medical Center Hospital, Home Hospice, and Star Care Home Health who compassionately cared for him during his last days.
