Norman L. Witcher, 81, of Odessa, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas. Born on December 8, 1942, in Littlefield, Texas to Jack and Oleta Witcher.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 2:00 PM, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Odessa. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home of Odessa.
He married the love of his life, Kay, on July 27, 1973, in Amarillo, Texas. Together they built a wonderful family and shared countless memories over the 51 years of marriage.
He worked as a teacher at Odessa College for 20 years. His dedication to continuing education was a testament to his commitment to lifelong learning and helping others achieve their goals.
Norman led a life full of generosity, kindness, and devotion to both his family and community. He had a passion for charity work and dedicated much of his time to various charitable organizations, including Hospice of Odessa, Meals on Wheels, and CASA. He was also a proud member of Freemasons and the Lions Club. He was also a veteran of the United States Air Force and served his country with honor in the Vietnam War.
Norman is proceeded in death by his parents, brother, Jim Witcher and Sister-in-Law, Kathy; Sister-in-law, Sennie Rhoades
Norman is survived by his wife; sons, Rex Brown and his wife Misty, Rip Brown and his wife Rebecca, Butch Witcher and Mary McCormic, Ray Brown and wife Rachel, Reid Witcher; sister, Bennie Choate and husband Bill. He was also a grandfather to 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren to whom he leaves behind a legacy of love and values.
Norman took joy in get-togethers with friends and family, cherishing the moments spent with loved ones and creating lasting memories. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and colleagues.
