Opal Clark

February 11, 1926 — November 27, 2010

Opal Christine Clark, age 84, of Odessa, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the Hospice House.

She was born February 11, 1926 in Ranger, Texas to L. W. Fisher and Hazel Fisher.

Her family lived in several towns before moving to Eunice, New Mexico, where she attended school and graduated in 1944. She then moved to Pecos, Texas and lived with her grandmother. She went to work there at Pecos Army Air Base. She had a beautiful voice and sang for the flyboys at the local U.S.O. When the war ended in 1945, she enrolled at T.C.U. and attended for two years. She came to Odessa in 1947 to work for Shell. She met her husband in Odessa, Blue Eyes Clark. They were married just shy of 62 years before his recent death in September. She was a homemaker for the last 50 years. She loved gardening and feeding the birds and watching old movies. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy and a visit from great grandson, Caiden, always brought a smile to her face.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.E. Blue Eyes Clark, her parents, her brother, Les Fisher, Jr. and a nephew, Kwen Fisher.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Sorenson and husband Tom three grandchildren, Tiffany Horton and husband Jonathan, Ben Sorenson, and Brittney Sorenson one great grandchild, Caiden Horton sister, Dorothy Schlemeyer and husband Carl, all of Odessa and sisterinlaw, Mary Fisher of Midland as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
