Othella Ross

Othella M. Ross, age 89, of Odessa, passed away Monday, December 5, 2011 in Odessa.

She was born November 21, 1922 in Roxton, Texas to Noble and Virgil Layton. She married Kenneth Robert Ross in Wareham, Massachusetts on October 27, 1942.

Othella lived a life dedicated to caring for her family and working in the church. She will be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Robert Ross, parents, one brother, and two sisters.

Survivors include her son, Kenney Ross and wife Pam of Big Spring her daughter, Jeana Miller and husband Marc of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma her brother James Layton and wife Dorothy of Dallas grandchildren, Eric Ross and wife Monica of Big Spring, Jennifer Childs and husband Wayne of Bastrop, Texas, Elisa Bird and husband Matt of San Angelo, Texas and Krista George and husband Phil of Odessa great grandchildren, Tristan, Collin, Kegan, and Veronica Ross of Big Spring, Mac and Kirby Childs, Zachary and Patrick Bird and one on the way.

Visitation with the family will be 57 PM Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Emmett Barnard officiating.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Home Hospice for the loving care of Othella Ross and to the staff of Parks Methodist Retirement Village, and the members of Second Baptist Church for their love, support and prayers over the years.
