At the age of 13 my father left home and throughout his many travelled roads, he was able to establish himself as a reputable contractor in California, where many of his completed projects remain today.
In 1975 he moved to Tennessee and eventually made his way back to Texas in 1983. He owned A-1 Portable Buildings in Odessa until he suffered a stroke at the age of 85. Even though his eyesight and hearing suffered tremendously, he had this overwhelming drive to live a long life and always had one more project written on a napkin, whether the others were completed. He spent over 50 years traveling across the country in his motor home, the last 21 with his wife Mary, and had a sharp memory about every adventure. He loved to meet his friends at Catfish & Co. for breakfast. He had unconditional love for everyone closest to him and still continued to help people any way possible. He will be missed for his honesty, integrity, adventurous stories and his vivacious energy that kept him going every day. After a long stay in the hospital, fighting every day, he died peacefully with his family at his side on November 10, 2017.
He is survived by his wife Mary Hansard, his son Jerry Moore, his daughter and son-in-law Susan & Lucas Garcia; his grandchildren Little Jerry, Kristina and Nicole and several great grandchildren.
He will be missed greatly. I love you kiddo!
