Pamela Sue Maples was called home to the Lord on September 7, 2008. She was born August 30, 1953, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. As a young child she moved to Odessa with her parents. Pam grew up here and raised her own family with her husband, Ben.
Pam and Ben Lewis Maples were married on November 1, 1974. She was a stay-at-home mom to their four children: Shawna Reeves and husband Chad of Odessa, Kristi Griffin and husband Bryan of Coleman, Texas, Ben Eugene Maples and fiance Diane of West Point, Utah and Lisa Maples of Odessa. Pamela began working for ECISD Transportation Department, driving a school bus, in August of 1988. She made many friends that became more like family through the years.
Pamela is the proud NaNa of eleven grandchildren: Ethan, Jake, Kim, Devin, Damon, Brad, Briana, Ryan, Dorian, Nick and Marina.
Pam is also survived by her two sisters, Linda Mahan and husband Leonard of Weinert, Texas and Vickie Hodges and husband John of Coleman, Texas, along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Pamela is preceded in death by her parents Hairl E. Lawson and Wanda Viola Rimer Lawson.
Upon Bens retirement, he and Pam wanted to move away to get away from it all. They chose their home to be Gouldbusk, Texas, in Coleman County. Her true retirement has only just begun...with our Lord. Pam always believed there are angels among us. Now, for all of us she loved so dear, she is our angel, with us always and forever.
Family visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday, September 9, 2008, in Sunset Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m.,Wednesday, September 10, 2008, in Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with Chaplin Tony King officiating.
Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to Solaris Hospice Healthcare, 413 Center Avenue, Brownwood, Texas, 76801.
