Patricia Gale Brooks-Dury

Patricia Gale “Trisha” Brooks-Dury, 70, of Midland, Texas, peacefully passed away at her home on Monday, July 3, 2023.

Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 10, 2023, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. All services are at and arranged by Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Odessa. Repast for friends and family will follow.

Patricia was born in Ysleta, Texas, to Keith Wayne Brooks and Dorothy Olean (Blythe) Spann on April 15, 1953. She graduated from Monahans High School in 1972, where she met her first husband, Bill Harris. They married in 1971 and had two children, Dwayne and Felicia. After the two divorced in 2003, Patricia met and married Bruce Dury in 2010.

After raising her family in Odessa, Patricia lived and worked in Aspermont, Pecos, and Midland, where she made lifelong friends. Since 2013, she has worked with many friends and loved ones at Liberty Lift.

Patricia enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her eight grandchildren, building puzzles and gardening. She devoted much of her time and energy to helping friends and family members, including becoming a caregiver for her mother and uncle, Grover Louis Brooks.

Patricia is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Robert Dury; her mother, Dorothy “Gigi” Olean (Blythe) Spann; her father, Keith Wayne Brooks; her brother, George Robert Heard; and her sisters-in-law, Brenda Kaye Brooks and Katherine “Bunny” Brooks.

Patricia is survived by her son, Dwayne Harris of Connecticut, his wife Heather, and their children Edward and Grace; her daughter, Felicia Cherry of Midland, and her children Parker, Paris, Phoenix, Presley, Peyton, and Prince; and their father, James Cherry; and her brothers Wayne Brooks of Odessa and Roger Brooks of Odessa; as well as many friends and extended family.
