On March 22, 2017 Patricia Ann (Nana) Crain entered Heaven's Gate at the age of 80 after a brief illness.
Born on December 23, 1936 to A.V. Smith and Juanita Miller in Holiday, TX. , she and Juanita moved to Odessa on December 7, 1941, later joined by grandmother, Beulah Miller.
She began her schooling in Odessa, spent some time in Baytown, then Abilene and returned to Odessa to graduate from OHS in 1954.
While still in high school she met the love of her life, Ronald Crain. They were married on January 21, 1955 and recently celebrated 62 years of marriage. She enjoyed raising her children, her grandchildren became the center of her life and for the past 7 years her greatest joy has been her great-grandson Tanner. Her life revolved around shopping, cooking, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to cook for their extended families and the tradition began to have holidays at Nana's house.
She loved her three children, Julie Gantt of Colorado Springs, CO, Steve Crain and wife Kim of St Louis, MO, and Jon Crain and wife Adina from Odessa. Her legacy and joy include her five grandchildren, Heather Fogarty and husband Terry, Tyler, Ross, Emily and Andrew Crain. She has two siblings, Agatha Arnold and husband Connie of Aransas Pass, TX and Sam Robert of Odessa,
Nana will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 27, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. John Schneider officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
