Paul Carter, age 69, of Odessa, TX, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017 in Odessa.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm, Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend John VanHoose officiating.

Paul was born August 26, 1947 to Richard and June Carter in Pocatello, Idaho. He attended school in Las Vegas, NV. He married the love of his life, Lona Carter on February 2, 1984 in Las Vegas. He works as a welder/fabrication Manager for J&J Steel for 44 years. He was a member of the Andy G. Vaughn #1421 Masonic Lodge, where he served as the secretary. He received the golden trowel award. Paul loved to fish, hunt, bee keep and trap. He had a love for riding his Harley Davidson. Mostly he loved his babies, Sweet Pea and Popeye. Because of his love for animals, he supported the Humane Society of Odessa.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents Richard and June Carter.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lona Carter; children, Lee and Tracey Calvert, Edwin Calvert, Bobby and Toshia Calvert, Dave Carter and Sherry Edwards; grandchildren, Cory and Haylee Wilkerson, Chase and fiancée, Brianna Calvert, Caleb Calvert, Garrett and Britney Calvert, Rachel and Robert Calvert, David Blackmon, Savannah and Justin Edwards, Sara Adams; great grandchildren, Hayden Wilkerson, Wesley and Liam Calvert and Jeffrey Edwards.

Memorials may be given in Paul's name to the Humane Society of Odessa and/or Andy G. Vaughn Masonic Lodge #1421.
