Paul Clark Jr.

February 1, 1938 — March 17, 2015

Paul H. Clark, Jr., 77, of Odessa was called home on March 17, 2015 after a brief illness in Odessa.

He was born in Littlefield, TX to Paul H. Clark and Maye Hale Clark on February 1, 1938. He attended school in Morton, Texas. At the time of his death, Paul Clark was pastor of Church of the Way, Truth, and Life. He also operated his own equipment design and manufacturing business. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 until 1958. Paul always said he went into the Army at the age of 17 so he could grow up. He greatly valued the discipline he learned while serving. After returning home to Morton, Texas he met and married his sweetheart, Janice Bailey. They were married for 48 wonderful years until her death in February 2007. They raised 5 children together.

Paul loved the Lord his God with all his heart. Nothing was more important to him. After becoming a Christian in 1964, Paul began his new life serving Christ. He loved helping people and soon began working in a small children's church ministry. This ministry grew into a church which he pastored. Paul loved everyone and his focus was seldom away from what was most important to him, serving Christ. He is loved by many, many people who have known him.

Paul was also a very intelligent man. With only a 9th grade education, he was forced to learn on his own. He began his career as a roughneck working in the oilfield but soon went to work for Tapco, an oilfield service company. While there as a young man, he saw the need for automation of equipment and soon began simple changes. He left Tapco with J.W. Postelle to start Postelle Sucker Rod Service in 1967. He continued developing his design skills while building the business. He later became the owner of the business which he managed for many years. After selling the business, Paul soon became more interested in design of equipment and founded the company he owned at the time of his death, ADE Corp. where he designed and manufactured automated machines to be used in the sucker rod, tubing, and pipe industry. Many people in this industry know Paul Clark and have great respect for his faith which was always a great part of his work; his intelligence; and his honest business practices. He will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his father, Paul H. Clark, his mother, Maye Clark, his first wife, Janice Bailey Clark, and his sister, Mary Joyce Huey.

He leaves his second wife, Brenda Clark, whom he loved; his son, Johnny A. Clark and wife Samantha of Garland, TX; his daughter, Cara J. Berry and husband Rusty of Midland; his son, Ronald D. Clark and wife Elva of Odessa; his daughter, Janna L. Seabourn and husband Fred of Odessa; his son, James P. Clark and wife Lisa of Odessa. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 17 great- grandchildren who loved him dearly. He also leaves his sister, Polly Felkins and husband Louis; his brother-in-law, Arnie Bailey, and many nieces and nephews.
