Paul Skelton, Jr.

Paul “Patty” Skelton Jr. 79, of Odessa, Texas went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 19, 2024, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.

 Paul was born in Turkey, Texas on December 9, 1944, to Paul and Dinah (Chadwick) Skelton. 

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Paul and Dinah; and sister, Winnie Taylor of Levelland, Texas. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 58 years, Nan; his daughter, Tonya, and her husband John of Odessa, Texas; his grandson, Ty, his wife, Kim; his great-grandson, Logan; his sister, Mary Corgill, and her husband Jerry of Levelland, Texas, and nieces and nephews. 

Paul proudly served two tours of duty aboard the USS Coral Sea as an Aviation Structural Mechanic Second Class during the Vietnam War, inspiring his grandson to continue in Naval service. Paul later spent over forty years working as an oilfield technician. Paul will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He shared a special bond with his grandson and will be especially missed. 

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. The burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
