Peggy Kerr

Peggy Arlene Kerr, known by most as “Grandma”, 71, of Odessa, Texas passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Medical Center Hospital.

She was born on February 18, 1951, in Odessa to parents not worth mentioning, but was loved and taken care of by her aunt Mary Lyn Marr and her grandparents Milton and Sara Marr. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1969 and married her husband, Gary Kerr Sr. In 1970. Together, they welcomed four children into their lives, and she fulfilled her dream of being a mother. Peggy worked at Phillips 66 and the Odessa Animal Control, but much preferred to be home with her kids and grandkids so that became her full-time job the rest of her life.

She is preceded in death by both parents, grandparents, her younger brother, Arthur Perkins, and niece, Stacey Perkins.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Kerr Sr.; her children, Gary Kerr Jr. and his wife Leydene of Odessa, Tamara Kerr of Odessa, James Kerr and his wife Emily of Midland, and John Kerr of Odessa; grandchildren, Shane Maestas and his wife Lisa, Israel Maestas and his wife Jacki, Trey Kerr and his wife Aracely, Katarina Kerr and her husband Steven, Jasmine Kerr, Jacque Kerr, Alyssa Kerr, Kathrine Lewis, Wyatt Lewis, Adam Flores; and great-grandchildren, Elena Maestas, Jayden Maestas, Isaac Maestas, Caylee Maestas, Azria Rodriguez, Lilly Rodriquez, Halen Rodriguez, and Kysen Kerr and everyone who called her grandma over the years.

We will remember Peggy as a wonderful and strong wife, mother, friend, cat-lover, and the best grandmother and great-grandmother until the very end.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in Odessa.
