Peggy Mccrary

Peggy Powers Willett McCrary 82 passed away Friday July 2, 2010 in Odessa at Medical Center Hospital. Peggy was born to Homer Patrick Powers, Jr. and Vera Glass Powers on January 15, 1928 in San Antonio, TX. She grew up and graduated from high school in Gallup, NM and attended the University of New Mexico where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She received her degree in advertising from the University of Denver.

Peggy was married to Arthur Edwin Willett in 1949 and lived in Albuquerque, NM. Mr. Willett died in 1962. She married Herbert Glenn McCrary in 1965 and they moved to El Paso, TX then to Carlsbad, NM and then to Odessa in 1979. She enjoyed a very happy, active life here as a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, small business owner, bowler and golfer. She loved barbershop singing and liked writing poetry and songs and letters to the newspaper and attending the Northside Senior Center.

She is survived by her spouse, Herbert McCrary from Odessa Children, Brian Patrick Willett, from Odessa, Dr. Anita Paiz Gomez and husband Ruben from Santa Fe, NM, Charles Allen Willett and wife Melinda from Midland, TX, Dr. Michael Wayne McCrary and wife Tracie from Ft. Worth, TX eight grandchildren: Nathan Andrew Reams, Ricardo Miguel Paiz and wife Veronica, Pablo Alfredo Paiz, Emily Catalina Herrera and husband Jason, Katie Nicole Willett, Colten Christopher Willett, Sean Michael McCrary and Christopher Michael McCrary one great grandchild, Jordan Herrera

Memorial service will be announced at a later date.

At the families request we would like memorials be made to the Northside Senior Center in Odessa, Texas.

At Peggys request and her love of writing she ask that you take a moment to sit down and write her family a note in her memory.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Funeral Home.
