Quinett Jones

Quinett Reid Jones, 81, of Odessa, TX, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024, following a brief illness. 

 Arrangements and interment are by Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, Odessa, TX. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by graveside services at 1:00 PM. 

 Quinett was born in Big Spring, TX February 7, 1943, to Quinon Reid and Ruth Menser Reid. She was a 1961 graduate of Coahoma High School, Coahoma, TX., and married Roy Lee Jones September 1, 1962, at her parents’ home, also in Coahoma. They celebrated 56 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2019.

 Quinett was known by many names to her family, Martha, Mama, Mother, Mimi, Mimiford and affectionately as Camp Director. She loved laughing until tears fell, was constantly reading, and decorating everything. She fiercely loved her family and her care for us was our greatest gift. She rarely missed her weekly appointment with her best friend, and talented stylist, Emma Acosta, and we know many of life’s challenges were solved over a perm!

 Preceding her in death were her husband and parents. She is survived by her daughters, Tanya McGehee and husband James, Kristie Philbin and husband Patrick; grandchildren, Shelby McGehee, Matthew McGehee and Shannon Philbin; and great-grandson, Corbin McGehee. 

 The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff of ICU4 at Medical Center Hospital for their diligence and compassionate care.
