Rabern Christian

Rabern Gene Ray Christian, 74 of OdessaDel Rio passed away on February 24, 2011 in San Antonio, TX. Ray was born to Rabern Clifton Christian and Georgia L. Christian in Wewoka, OK on September 28, 1936.

He was a member of First Baptist Church. Ray was a retiree of Huntsman where he was a maintenance supervisor for many years. Ray was a 32nd degree mason for over fifty years as Masonic lodge member with the McFarland Lodge. He was a member of Kermit Bass Club for over 15 years. He enjoyed being at the lake with family and friends. He always had a fish tale or a line of bull to keep things lively. Great times and good fun were had by all.

Preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Cliff, Warren and Vernon and three sisters, Elizabeth, Nita and Wanda.

Ray is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Tatum Christian, daughter, Sherri Lawler and husband Ronnie of Midland, TX son, Steve Christian and wife Felicia of Waxahachie, TX five grandchildren, Danna Matter and husband Greg of Dallas, TX Brandi Keys and husband Matt of Midland, TX, Lance Daughtry and wife Chelsea of Red Oak, TX, Nick Schrock and fianc Mika Johnston of Odessa, Bret Daughtry and wife Amanda of Waxahachie, TX with eleven greatgrandchildren sister, Joyce Swarb of Montgomery, TX, and many nieces and nephews in which he loved dearly.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, February 28, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Odessa, TX with Johnny Young of First Baptist Church officiating, also Masonic Lodge will provide graveside rights. Casual attire requested.

The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and staff of BAMC Burn Unit for all their hard work and dedication.
