Rachel (Ray) Seal, 88 years old, of Odessa, Texas passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017 in Midland, Texas.
Visitation will be Monday September 25, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Chapel with Reverend John Gerlach, officiating.
Ray was born near Eola to Raleigh and Nola Seal on May 16, 1929. Ray attended school in Water Valley. After graduation, Ray joined the U.S. Marine Corps from 1948-1952 and is a Veteran of the Korean War. Ray was a member of the first Honor Guard to raise the first US flag on the USS Arizona. Ray later married Wilma Dean Sands on June 19, 1954. Ray worked as a pumper for Texaco for 36 years.
Ray is preceded in death by his wife Wilma Dean Seal, 2 sisters-Maudie May Jones and Doris Lucille Scott, 4 brothers-R.C. Seal, W.C. Seal, Aubry Seal and Harold Seal.
Ray is survived by his second wife Dalores Seal, children Neal and his wife Robbie Sparks, Glen and his wife Darlene Seal, and Penny and her husband Kit Parten; brothers Elbert Seal and Bobby Seal; grandchildren Jennifer Wright, Kennith Howell, Rachel Shafer, Bobby Sparks, Michelle Parten and Christopher Parten; and ten great grandchildren.
Ray's family requests memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
