Raymond Hernandez, 53, of Odessa, passed away on July 10, 2021, in Odessa, Texas.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at 10:00 am at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home. Rosary will be held on Thursday, July 15 at 7:00 pm, also at Sunset.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021, at 2:00 pm at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Chavez of St. Joseph’s officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
Raymond was born to Maria E. and Raymundo Hernandez on September 23, 1967. He went to Odessa High School. He married Mari Licon on April 8, 1995, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He was employed by the City of Odessa, handling irrigation for the Parks Department. He also owned Odessa Irrigation and served numerous families in his community. A man of faith, Raymond was involved with his church family at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He spent his free time cheering on his two favorite sports teams, the Dallas Mavericks and the Texas Rangers.
Raymond is preceded in death by his wife, Mari, and his father, Raymundo Hernandez.
Raymond is survived by his son Irvin Hernandez, girlfriend Mayra Leyva, mother Maria E. Hernandez, brother Manuel Hernandez and wife Yesenia Hernandez Nieto, sister Christy Roth and husband Juan Carlos, brother Harvey Hernandez and wife Yvonne, brother Johnny Hernandez, and sister Carmen Chavez and husband Jose, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Christian Roth, Cristobal Roth, Nathaniel Hernandez, Noah Hernandez, Aaron Hernandez, and Kobe Hernandez.
The family is grateful for the loving care given to Raymond by the nursing staff at Odessa Regional Medical Center. Flowers or condolences may be sent to Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
