Randy Whitaker

Randy Whitaker, 43 of Pleasant Farms, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2010 at his home. Randy was born October 28, 1966 in Seminole, Texas. He was baptized in the Baptist Church in Hobbs, New Mexico. He kept his family and loved ones in his prayers daily. Randy was a very hard working man with a big heart for everyone. He would help anyone who was in need. He loved and cherished his children, his family and his fiance Paula with all his heart. Randy worked most of his adult life in various oilfield related jobs in New Mexico and Alaska. Due to work related injuries, Randy got into raising produce, primarily watermelons and cantaloupes. He took a lot of pride in his land and crops.
Randy is preceded in death by his brother David Whitaker. Those left to love and cherish his memory are his four children Dustin Whitaker of New Braunfuls, Texas Meagan Whitaker, Wridge Whitaker, and Payten Whitaker of Hobbs, New Mexico. His mother and stepfather Maudie and Bob Winn of Odessa his father Eldon Whitaker and wife Mary of Seminole, Texas His fiance Paula Seymore of Pleasant Farms. Sisters Neicie Craig and her fiance David McAdams of Hobbs, New Mexico and Dorinda Allen of Seminole, Texas and brother Ronnie Whitaker and wife Millie of Seminole, Texas. Eight nieces and nephews and fifteen aunts and uncles. Pallbearers will be Cody Oyenik, Paul Pritchard, Jimmy Johnson, Dean Deming, Brad Winn and Bruce Winn. Honorary pallbearers will be David McAdams, Jason Trout, Kenzie Craig and Kaylee Craig.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Terry Tamplen of the 1st United Methodist Church of Odessa officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5:00 7:00 PM Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
