Raymond Byron Jones, age 89, of Odessa, TX, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024, in Odessa.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, July 29, 2024, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating.
Ray was born on December 4, 1934, to William and Evelyn Jones in Denver, CO.
He graduated from North Denver High School in 1950, and furthered his education and received his Associates Degree in Business. Ray married Shirley Mae Sailor on September 18, 1953, in Denver, CO. On September 5, 1986, Ray married Sherry Lavon Strahan in Kauai, Hawaii, and always referred to her as his soulmate and Queen. They were married until her death on May 2, 2017. He was over Sales and Training with Dupont/PPG Paints for 48 years. Ray loved to travel and was still snow skiing at 78 years old. His passions were his wife, children and grandchildren.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Evelyn Jones; his wife, Sherry Jones; his son, Johnny Jones; his brother, Donnie Jones; and sisters, Marion Medina, Linda Jones and Patty Ashinhurst.
He is survived by his children, son, Bobby Strahan Jr. and wife Holly; daughter, Judy Elizabeth Cary and husband Mike; son, Steven Kirk Strahan and wife Lisa; daughter, Renee Marie O’Mara; and daughter, Sheryl Lee Jones; grandchildren, Marcey Love and husband Todd, Steven Strahan and wife Michelle, Jeff Strahan and wife Tasha, Ashley Cary, Paige Strahan, Austin Strahan, Riley, Ethelle and Eoin O’Mara, Erin Ashley Moss, Billy Ray Jones, Jason Jones and Trent Jones; great grandchildren, Jonathan, Jacob, Madison, Raylee, Waylon, Caroline, Savannah and Eislynn; as well as special friend, Pat Moore. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Honorary Pallbearers are Steven Strahan, Jeff Strahan, Austin Strahan and Waylon Strahan.
