After years of battling medical problems, Rebecca Roberts received the ultimate healing when her Lord called home Saturday, October 1, 2011. She was born to Robert Sr. and Martha Lauderdale in June 6, 1967 in Odessa, Texas. With exception of a 7 year period, she lived her life in Odessa. A 1985 graduate of Permian High School, she continued her education at Odessa College and UTPB, she was a Registered Respiratory Therapist. She worked for various medical facilities in the area, most recently she was employed as an adjunct faculty member at Midland College working with online students in the field of medical terminology.
On November 9, 1991 she married Geneo Roberts and they began a 20 year journey together. As they started a family she began working from home as much as possible in order to stay with her children.
Family was the focus of her life. Even from her hospital bed she fought to maintain a positive example for her kids and support for her husband Geneo. During her years of suffering she maintained her great sense of humor and tried to keep a smile on her face. Her humor was strengthened by her faith in Christ.
Awaiting her in heaven are her daughter Sarah Anne, her parents and grandmother. Her memory and legacy is carried on by her husband Geneo and their children Joshua and Hannah, all of Odessa and her beloved inlaws, Gene and Jean Roberts, of Odessa and her brother Robert Jr. and wife Allyson of Houston, Texas and grandfather Howard Adkins of Mesquite, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family visitation will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home from 68 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2011. A celebration of her life will held at Chapel Hill Baptist at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2011.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Youth or Childrens ministry at Chapel Hill Baptist Church.
