Janie Garrett McPherson, age 55, of Odessa, TX went to be with her lord on September 28, 2014 in Odessa, TX.

Graveside services will be held at 10 AM October 2, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with
Pastor Don Hetherington of Full Gospel River of Life Church officiating.

Janie was born to James Benton and Weda Marie Garrett in Odessa, TX on April 22, 1959. She graduated 19th in her class from Odessa High School, class of 1977. Music was her passion. She played piano and loved to karaoke. Shopping for a bargain was her goal in life. Janie loved fishing and the outdoors. She enjoyed getting together with friends and having fun. She loved her children and grandchildren whole heartedly. She was loved by all her friends and family.

She is preceded in death by death by her daddy, James Benton Garrett, her mother Weda Marie Garrett, uncle, Jack Gwatney, sister, GeAnna Stevens and the love of her life, Jamie Lynn McPherson.

Janie is survived by her children, Nicki McPherson Swain and Colter Maney of Bastrop, TX, Dusty Maney of Odessa, TX, niece, Angela Platt of Ringling, Ok., grandchildren, Ashton Trahan and Aubrey Swain of Bastrop, TX, and great nephews, Michael, Cade, Christopher and Justin of Ringling, OK.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Star Hospice and a heartfelt appreciation to Dianne Vaught. She is a lifelong friend of our mother and was by her side continuously throughout these last few weeks.
